Google has rolled out a special support program in India for select Pixel 9 users facing display-related problems. Under this initiative, owners of the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold can get their screens replaced free of cost—provided their devices meet specific criteria.
The program is designed to address a known display defect affecting certain units. Google has confirmed it will identify impacted devices and offer a complimentary screen replacement to prevent long-term display issues. This extended support remains valid for up to three years from the original purchase date.
Eligible Devices
The free screen replacement program applies to the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL models, which have been reported to show vertical lines running from the top to the bottom of the display, along with flickering issues. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also included in the program.
However, not all devices qualify. Phones with cracked screens, liquid damage, or physical damage to the glass will not be eligible for a free replacement under this scheme.

How to Get the Screen Replaced
The screen repair program officially began on December 8, 2025. Eligible users can visit a Google walk-in service centre or an authorised service partner to get their device checked. Google is also offering online repair options for added convenience.
All screen replacements carried out under this program come with a 90-day service warranty, in line with local consumer protection laws. Importantly, this does not affect the standard warranty coverage of the device.
Duration and Additional Benefits
The program covers affected devices for three years from the original date of purchase of the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Users can verify their device’s eligibility through Google’s official website.
Additionally, Pixel 9 Pro Fold users who paid for a screen replacement before December 8, 2025, may be eligible for reimbursement or a replacement, depending on Google’s assessment.
In short, while Google’s free screen replacement program offers welcome relief to Pixel 9 users, it applies only to specific display issues and devices that meet the company’s eligibility requirements.
